L- LIGHT THERAPY
- Simply put, light therapy is the use of natural or artificial light to promote healing. Specific techniques differ primarily in the type of light involved. Full-spectrum light therapy consists of regular exposure to controlled amounts of either natural sunlight or artificial light that contains all wavelengths of light, from infrared to ultraviolet. Bright light therapy involves exposure to nonultraviolet white light in levels that match the amount of natural sunlight found outdoors shortly after sunrise or before sunset. In cold laser therapy, small beams of low-intensity laser light are applied directly to the skin. Colored light therapy focuses different colored lights on the skin. (1)
- LOMILOMI
- Lomilomi literally means "to break up into small pieces with the fingers." It is a type of healing massage that is traditionally practiced in the Hawaiian Islands. (14)
