MARCIANO FERRER AQUINO


Marciano Ferrer Aquino

Dr. Marciano F. Aquino was born in San Narciso, Quezon Province, Philippines on September 8, 1928. He received his medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines in 1954. He interned at St. Vincent's Charity Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio, from 1954-55. He was a resident in general surgery at Evangelical Deaconess Hospital, Cleveland, from 1955-58. He also had postgraduate training in Philadelphia. He moved to Hawaii in 1958 and was one of the first physicians at Kaiser Hospital when it opened in Waikiki. He retired from Kaiser on December 31, 1993.

Dr. Aquino was a member of the American Medical Association, Hawaii Medical Association, Honolulu County Medical Society and the American College of Surgeons (Fellow). After retirement he enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and crafted koa awards, clocks and boxes. Dr. Aquino and his wife, Jane, were the parents of three children, Jennifer, Lori and Suzanne. Dr. Aquino also has a son, Robert, from a previous marriage.

Dr. Aquino died on February 15, 2003 at the age of 74.
