He received his preliminary education at the Hilo High School from which he was graduated in 1924. In 1928 he received his B.A. degree with honors from Oberlin College. His medical degree was earned at Harvard Medical School in 1932.
Dr. Arimizu interned at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. He did postgraduate work at the University of Rochester Medical School and at Strong Memorial Hospital.
In 1935 he returned to Hilo and started in private practice. Dr. Arimizu was married and had one son, Rickie.
On November 10, 1954, Dr. Arimizu died in Hilo at the age of 49.
He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Boylston Medical Society, Harvard, the American Medical Association and Hawaii County Medical Society. He served as secretary-treasurer from 1939 to 1940 of the Hawaii County Medical Society.
